Cristina Prieto is Professor of Energy Engineering at the University of Seville and Scientific Advisor at Build to Zero. She has more than 25 years of combined industrial and academic experience in concentrating solar power and thermal energy storage, covering the full technology-development cycle from materials and system design to demonstration, scale-up and commercial deployment. During her career at Abengoa, she contributed to major CSP plants worldwide, including PS10, Solana, Khi Solar One, Xina Solar One and Cerro Dominador. She currently coordinates the Horizon Europe HYBRIDplus project, focused on advanced thermal energy storage solutions for hybrid solar plants. She has authored more than 90 scientific publications and is an inventor on 15 international patents. She has also been included in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking in the field of Energy.
